Konami為心跳回憶２制作了數部外傳作品，試圖復制心跳回憶1的劇場系列的成功。Dancing Summer Vacation只是其中一部，Konami在制作時的確力圖有所突破和創新，動了很多心思，他們把紅遍全球的音樂動作游戲Dance Dance Revolution和戀愛模擬游戲心跳回憶結合起來創造出了Dancing Summer Vacation。實事求是說這是一個非常天才的創意，絕對應該得到喝彩，不過開發人員無意中忽略游戲的情節和人物，造成游戲流程過短，劇情蒼白，蛻變成了一個迷你版的音樂類游戲，這個不可饒恕的失誤在眾多Fans心上投下了重重的陰影。但是游戲的音樂應該得高分，專輯的名字暗示了專輯的風格——輕松歡快的舞曲。許多深受玩家歡迎的歌曲被重新編排成了節奏十分強烈和清晰的舞曲以配合迷你游戲。聽多了心跳回憶系列抒情類歌曲以后換一種口味的確有助于緩解審美疲勞。
