Orange And Black

Dropping out of college was easy. Keeping a cover band working in the 70's was
even easier. But when pianist/songwriter Joe Chiofalo and his then band mates
started recording his material in search of a record deal, the usual pitfalls
ensued. Drummers found God, bass players found love, guitar players found real
jobs and Joe found himself starting from scratch again and again. He was in
search of a producer that shared his musical taste and sensibility to help
record his newly written songs. His search ended when he and producer/guitarist
Stephen Butler of Smash Palace had a nice long chat after playing a Mary Lee's
Corvette gig together. Steve (who also contributes his stellar,
Beatles-inspired, guitar prowess throughout) got in touch with long time friends
Fran Smith Jr., bass player for The Hooters (also with a brilliant pop release
in his own rite), and studio drummer Greg DiDonato, to help with the
proceedings. The ten hook-filled songs presented here have a bit of 80's Brit
Pop (in a good way) feel to them and are well-written, well-played, well-sung,
and well-produced! Badfinger-like and Squeeze-like at times too! Extremely
catchy!
