<BR>    神秘博士是由BBC制作的英國科幻電視劇。該劇講述了名為“博士”神秘的外星時間旅行者，隨著他的時空機器TARDIS的冒險故事，他的時空機器外觀看上去像1950年代的警亭。博士帶著他的伙伴，探索時間空間，面對各種怪物，解決各類問題。

<BR>    該劇已被列入吉尼斯世界紀錄成為世界上最長的科幻片，其已經成英國流行文化的重要組成部分。該片早年，以其極富想象力的故事，創意的低成本特效而被大家認可，而且，其也是電子音樂應用的先驅(早年音樂由BBC無線電工作坊制作)。在英國和其他地方，該劇受到大量愛好者的追捧，影響了一代又一代英國電視制作人，他們中的許多人是看著該劇長大的。該劇贏的了包括2006年的BAFTA和最受歡迎電視劇(Best Drama Series)在內的，無數評論人員和公眾的好評，成為英國最好的電視劇之一。

<BR>    該劇是一個內容豐富、極具追看性的科幻歷險故事。故事主人翁the Doctor是一個機智英勇，能穿越時間空間的冒險家。他與其親密拍擋Rose在進行緊張刺激的宇宙探索之際，竟遇上了有意毀滅地球的外層空間怪物 - Dalek。憑著the Doctor的機智及能力，究竟他能否阻止 Dalek 侵襲地球，避免這場浩劫的發生？

<BR>    英國長壽科幻劇《Doctor Who》早在1963年的11月首次于英國廣播電視臺登場跟觀眾朋友見面，多年來受歡迎程度一直不減，《Doctor Who》陪著一代又一代的英國人成長，更被投選成為二十世紀英國最偉大電視節目的第三位，足見其經典地位絕不下于美國同類型的電視劇《Star Trek》。

<BR>    《Doctor Who》的故事圍繞著擁有神奇力量、可以縱橫時空、穿梭宇宙、主宰時間的外星人「博士」。博士表面上看來跟平常地球人沒半點分別，卻背負著保護地球的使命。原來一向平靜安寧的地球危機四伏，多個外太空星球的入侵者都對擁有豐富資源的地球不懷好意，經常想伺機征服，若然不是博士總在危急關頭出手相助，相信人類早就成為外星人的階下囚。陪同博士出生入死的除了他那部裝成是公共電話亭的時空機外，還有一位勇敢機智的地球人羅莎。博士與羅莎合作無間，遨游于宇宙無盡的空間，經歷一段比一段刺激的科幻旅程。

<BR>    博士除了擁有控制時空的能力外，亦能改裝易容。1963年到1996年間，演出過這位異世博士的演員就有7位?！禗octor Who (1963)》在1996年從英國廣播電視臺退下，暫與觀眾作別。一直到2005年，請來在英國著名電視劇監制RussellTDavies制作新一輯的《Doctor Who(2005)》，觀眾才再有機會欣賞異世博士的風采。
