Britney Spears(布蘭妮)最新專輯《Britney》動員頂尖制作與創作名筆，繼續執行解放自我的流行任務，再次強調她已不再是那個天真的小女生。她在新碟中的第二首歌《Overprotected》中唱著“I‘m so fed up with people telling me what to do”，盡管新銳制作組合The Neptunes為首支單曲《I‘m A Slave 4 U》編織了一個新的節奏冒險，專輯中的其它歌曲依然圍繞著青春女王的形象打造，偶而展現些許挑戰邊緣的企圖。 
幫‘N Sync(超級男孩)打造成聽起來有如2010年酷團的BT為Britney男友Justin與編舞者Wade Robson合寫的《What It‘s Like To Be Me》添加電音實驗趣味，歌曲以Justin的問句“Do you even know what I like?”開場，在一陣節奏聲效后，歌曲浮出兩人的和諧清唱。 
2000年合作過《(I Can‘t Get No) Satisfaction》后，制作人Rodney Jenkins再度為Britney的老歌新唱曲《I Love Rock ‘N‘ Roll》操刀，重現Joan Jett 82年時演唱此歌的性感風情。新世代創作才女Dido(蒂朵)譜寫，制作老友Max Martin、Rami制作的《I‘m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman》是新碟中唯一的抒情歌，流露細膩的感觸，類似的議題也出現在不同的歌曲里，Martin與Rami制作的《Overprotected》，Britney就在副歌中問道: “What am I to do with my life?“ she asks in the chorus. “How am I supposed to know what‘s right?/ I can‘t help the feeling/ But my life has been so overprotected。” 
帶點放克味道的《Boys》，Britney稍微改了一些步調，歌曲描述Britney與一位在俱樂部偶遇的男生墜入情網的故事，在這首由The Neptunes制作的歌曲里唱著《I spotted you dancing/ You made all the girls stare““Your lips and brown eyes/ And your sexy hair》，還以《Nasty boys》的口吻向Janet(珍娜)致敬。
